2021 | Tour Day 6

After a marvelous day off (Thursday), we are back on the road! Friday held the anticipation of a program again, which was all the more fun after a day of vocal rest. Perhaps you wonder if singing the same 15 songs becomes old after a week on tour. I believe any musician would tell you quite the opposite. Particularly with sacred arrangements of hymns, Scripture passages, and other spiritual songs, each evening is a new opportunity to discover and wonder at the beauty of our God and the glory of the Gospel! Rather than getting old, the program gets better and better each day. ?

On Friday, much rook was played, many naps were taken, and good food was enjoyed by all en route to southern Missouri for our 7:00 concert.

Random perks to a music tour:

  • Visiting many different churches, communities, and cities – (stay posted for the total number of miles traveled on this tour! ?)
  • Did we mention rook at all on this blog?
  • Deepening of friendships with long travel days and ample opportunity for good conversation
  • “All-you-can-eat” taco salad for supper ?
  • Snuggling babies
  • Being driven everywhere by our faithful bus driver, Norrell Lee!

Being the bus driver is one of the best jobs on tour because you have generally easy days, you get to hear a concert every night, and you get to see God move in the hearts of people.

  • All the laughter we get from Maria and her antics
  • A refreshing break from routine
  • Finding old friends and new ones along the way.
  • Spiritual input and insight from fellow believers are a major highlight!
  • Devotional times during the day and before each program – encouraging and focusing for the entire endeavor
  • Last but certainly not least, the opportunity to Praise Our God!

On a personal note: I have been reminded this week that every aspect of my life should be a flow of praise to God. We spend ample time talking about praising God in our programs, but it shouldn’t stop there. All of my life should be worship and glad service to the God who has gone to every length to buy me back from my sin!

Fun fact: Personal practice throughout summer makes up the bulk of rehearsal time. Tehillah members only spend a total of four days rehearsing together before going on tour.
