Thursday was a much anticipated day for the ensemble since we knew we would have the day off (no traveling or program in the evening). Most of us felt like we needed the extra rest! It was a relief to go to bed Wednesday night and know that we could sleep as long as needed.
We prepared our own meals on Thursday with some help from Hans and Beth Mast (Beth is a former Tehillah member). It was a blessing to see different members take it upon themselves to help prepare food though we were all trying to make use of the opportunity to rest.
All of the couples and a few single members stayed in a house called Cottonwood, which was our headquarters for our time in Hutchinson, KS. We are grateful for the thoughtful hospitality of the folks in Hutchinson who made our stay relaxing and fun!
Here is a general overview of the day:
- Slept in (most of us did, I believe)
- 10:30, everyone met at Cottonwood for brunch
- After brunch, one group visited an air and space museum, one group visited a salt mine, and the rest of us stayed at Cottonwood and relaxed.
- 4:30-6:30, we met at a gym and played some low-key volleyball and basketball.
- When we returned to Cottonwood, Julian and Bryce grilled steaks and chicken for supper.
- We spent the evening at Cottonwood and played ping pong, pool, and rook.
Now we are refreshed and ready for our next program!

Fun Facts: What things are nearly constant on this tour? Singing, laughter, good conversations, coffee, rook, and babies to hold.
