Ready or not, our 2024 tour has begun–hopefully we are ready anyway! With two days of rehearsal behind us, the Tehillah Ensemble is moving into concert mode and we anticipate seeing many of you in the next week. Please pray for us as we endeavor to praise God and encourage his family! The theme of this year’s repertoire is “Christ, Our Salvation.”
Friday and Saturday we spent in “reunioning”, rehearsal, and refreshment. Thanks to the Hartville Conservative Mennonite Church for allowing us space to practice and beds for several nights! Friday we enjoyed an evening at the Dave and Alice Gingerich residence, which included birthday cake, swings, and a lovely hayride. The children along for the tour especially enjoyed playing outside and meeting Dave’s goats. 🙂 On Saturday we concluded our practice by polishing a few trouble spots and running a dress rehearsal before our evening concert.
As we enter this tour, we are reminded of the words in Psalm 79. After reflecting on the sorrows of this world, the psalmist closes with this resolution; “But we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise.” (79:13) No matter the circumstances we find ourselves in, we give much honor to the name of God by choosing to worship and give thanks. Our desire as an ensemble is to express this type of worship, and we hope that you along with us will be able, no matter what life holds at this moment, to lift your eyes to Him who is our salvation and our hope.
