Rehearsal 2025: Day 1

Friday morning saw the various members of Tehillah trickling into Pleasant View Mennonite Church in Millersburg, Ohio, a few at a time. As we arrived, we warmly greeted old friends and met a couple of new ones! After many hugs, hellos, and a brief period of prayer, we were all eager to get into the music and finally hear what it was supposed to sound like with actual human voices, not just a Musescore soundtrack.

Our practice hours were a lovely mixture of beautiful harmonies, snarky asides, and much warm, jolly laughter. 🙂 We had several small breaks throughout the day, as well as that delightful haven of rest, otherwise known as lunchtime! At about 4:30, we finished up our scheduled singing for the day and quickly changed into concert dress before heading to The Wilderness Center to take group pictures. Things were a little damper than we could have hoped for, but the rain let up, and the sun even managed to peek through the clouds a bit as we “cheesed” away. 🙂 Many pictures, soggy shoes, and one rendition of “Country Roads Take Me Home” later, the pictures were finished, and it was off to supper!

We had a tasty supper at Natasha and Brooke Wenger’s house and then spent the evening sitting around the living room chatting, telling stories, and, of course, laughing as always. As the day closes, we are tired but happy–filled with the contentment that comes from lovely company and a day well spent.
