Tuesday morning found us gathering at the bus at 8:30. We followed our local ensemble member’s suggestions and toured some local establishments: Hartville Hardware and the MCC store, with a lunch stop at Hartville Kitchen. Some of us found items that joined the tour!
The sounds of games, stories, and practice soon filled the bus. The short drive to Guys Mills, Pennsylvania, passed uneventfully. We enjoyed the pleasant weather and sunshine for a few minutes before gathering on stage to recount the “joys and sorrows” of the previous program. One member stated that a particular segment of ooing sounded like “hot garbage.” Such descriptions provide reasons for focused practice time!
Families from Shalom fed us scrumptiously. The church soon filled with family and friends from near and far! (Some of them were in the area because Faith Builders is currently hosting teachers’ week.) it was a joy to worship again in song with an attentive audience!
