Rehearsal & Recording 2026 | Day 2&3

Rehearsal Day Two found us once again collected at our practice venue, and ready to dive back into our music! Our day was full of singing, laughter, and many quips on listening to one’s own voice. 😉

We had a tasty lunch provided by Rosella and Leanna, and later we made our way to Tony and Rose Yoder’s house for the evening meal. Our evening was a delightful mix of fajitas, coffee, giant swings, and listening to some beautiful music played by four of the Yoder children. Ah yes, and a spirited rubber band fight that lasted longer than you might think in a group of people who are all legally adults. 😄

Saturday morning was met with many yawns and voices that were feeling a bit tired after two full days of practice. The sanctuary had been converted from its usual state of order to something resembling a giant blanket fort—with mattresses and blankets spread hither, thither, and yon! This was (sadly) not for mid-day napping purposes, but rather to deaden the liveness of the room so that we could record. Kendrick Layman, who does our recording, met us at the church, and we spent a long day singing songs, tweaking small details, and singing them again. We also surprised Dan with a group rendition of a barbershop happy birthday.

A delightful evening was spent hanging out at Julian and Ruthie’s and celebrating Dan’s 40th birthday! We then headed to our separate lodgings for a night of sleep before the start of tour the next day.
