Wednesday morning found us on the bus heading to Hesston College. We were graciously welcomed by Greg Bontrager, who led our workshop for an hour. The Bel Canto Singers joined us for the rest of the morning, and we enjoyed hearing some of their pieces, singing some of ours, and working on a new piece together!
Over a tasty lunch, we enjoyed getting to know the members of Bel Canto better. We headed back to Hutchinson for the afternoon. Most of us rested, a few found a coffee shop, and others worked on barbershop tags.
Word of Life provided a delicious supper before our evening program. During our intermission, a local men’s singing group, “Doxology,” sang two songs. We enjoyed hearing someone else on the stage for a change. After the service, we had many warm conversations and heard from numerous people that their favorite piece was Dies Irae.
