After an enjoyable evening with our hosts in Fairland, Oklahoma, the Friday morning call time came early at 7:45. We had a long drive back to Indiana ahead of us!

By mid-morning, the laughter from stories, games, and children’s songs filled the bus. There were also eruptions of “No way!” and moans of despair when some players found themselves in dire straits. We also learned that our tour director has a “very deep speaking voice for a tenor.”

We stopped for lunch in a hilly Missouri town. Most of us decided the exercise required to find food at one of the restaurants at the bottom of the hill was worth the climb back up. Multiple reports of it being very warm were heard after we reconvened on the bus!

More games. More stories were read to the children by Dave. An air conditioner that decided it wasn’t going to keep up anymore. And through it all, Norrell kept driving.
We arrived safely, albeit a bit warm, back in Elnora around 7:30. After a quick supper at Julian’s, we headed up to EBI to unpack the bus.

Next came the fun of cleaning the bus! By 10:30, all the extra seats had been put back in, the windows and floors scrubbed, and the exterior brushed and rinsed to a shine. Then we all went home to sleep before a long recording day tomorrow!
